ENG 101-102 at ECTC will focus on academic writing and provide instruction in drafting and revising essays that express ideas in Standard English, including reading critically, thinking logically, responding to texts, addressing specific audiences, and researching and documenting sources and includes a review of grammar, mechanics, and usage. Course ObjectivesThis course is the first class in the writing sequence here at ECTC. It focuses on academic writing and provides instruction in drafting and revising essays that express ideas in Standard English. The course also helps you develop skills in reading critically, thinking logically, responding to texts, addressing specific audiences, researching and documenting sources. This course is designed to help you hone your critical thinking and writing skills. Writing focuses and intensifies learning; thus, it is an integral part of the life of academic and professional communities. This course will help you develop the writing skills you already have in order to understand and deal with the writing demands of college and of your future profession.
